A controller is also a monitor, but it also controls an electrical device depending on its reading. This controller is an upgrade that is 10x more accurate than the previous model. It now reads up to 0.00 decimal places compared to 0.0 that was the previous limit. This allows far greater control and safety.

The new ph controller also has an additional reverse feature that allows you the option of setting the controller to activate a device if the pH gets too low. For example, a dosing pump to increase hardness or a solenoid to inject O2 into a planted tank or calcium reactor(saltwater). If the controller is set to maintain a pH of say, 6.50 in a freshwater setup. As plants use up Co2 during the day they release O2 which causes the pH to rise. The controller\'s probe detects the pH increase and will switch on the solenoid allowing the CO2 to flow into the aquarium until the pH drops just below the pre-set 6.50. It then cuts the solenoid off stopping the flow of Co2. Essentially, this allows the plants to control & optimize Co2 addition to the aquarium based on their own needs.
